Visitor and Education Center

PARKING

The Trocnov complex features two brand-new parking lots (one with a capacity of 243 spaces, including spaces reserved for people with disabilities, plus 5 charging stations for electric vehicles; the second parking lot offers 54 spaces, including spaces reserved for people with disabilities, plus 1 charging station for electric vehicles). In total, there are 297 parking spaces available, plus 6 charging stations for electric vehicles.

SERVICES AND FACILITIES

Inside the Visitor and Education Center itself, you’ll find the ticket office, where you can purchase tickets to the grounds and get all the necessary information. You will also find a gift shop with souvenirs and publications, a model of the Trocnov Archaeological Open-Air Museum, and a relaxation area. At the reception desk, you can use lockers to store your personal belongings or pick up keys to lock your bicycles.

The center also features a cafeteria  and a pleasant outdoor terrace with seating, where you can grab a bite to eat before your tour or wrap up your visit.

The facility also includes a lecture hall and a large training workshop for advanced   educational programs, which is equipped with, for example, a potter’s wheel, a kiln, and an interactive screen.

Of course, the building is equipped with restrooms, including accessible restrooms for visitors with limited mobility (separate facilities for women and men), and there is also a separate area for mothers with children.

The planned adjacent modern playground with benches, which we expect to open in August 2026, will combine physical activity with history. The play area will fully respect the historical character of the site. In total, you will find 13 play elements for children here: for example, a model of a medieval castle, a cannon, or a wagon. The playground is designed to entertain a wide range of visitors—from preschoolers to teenagers.

We are also planning the revitalization of the inner courtyard, which will offer a pleasant place to relax during the summer months, as well as expanding the capacity of the access road with an integrated bike path.
