Oceán Concert

04.07.2026
20:00 - 21:30
Trocnov 14, 373 12 Borovany

The band, fronted by singer Petr Muk, enjoyed its greatest commercial success in the second half of the 1980s and early 1990s. After the band’s return, singer Jitka Charvátová took over as frontwoman, and the comeback was sealed by a successful tour of Czech and Slovak clubs. Come hear hits like “Ráchel,” “Prázdná ulice,” and “Dávná zem” in the unique setting of the Trocnov complex!

Oceán Concert

Oceán is one of the most distinctive Czech bands of the late 1980s and early 1990s. Formed in Prague in 1985, the band made a significant mark on the history of Czech music by blending synthpop, new wave, and electronic music. The band was characterized by Petr Muk’s distinctive voice and the melancholic, existential atmosphere of their songs. Albums such as Dávná zem, Pyramida snů, and Labyrint světa a ráj srdce are now considered classics of the post-revolutionary Czech music scene.

The band's current lineup consists of Jitka Charvátová, Petr Kučera, Jan Vozáry, and Petr Hons.

The concert will be followed by an autograph session, a photo opportunity, and the sale of CDs and souvenirs.

Tickets for the concert can be purchased on the CBsystem.cz website. General admission: 690 CZK.

The Sword and Man 2 Conference: Selected Chapters on the History of Swords and People

The aim of the conference is to discuss the role of the sword in human history. What is a sword? When did the sword first appear in our region? What social context is the sword associated with? What is the symbolic role of the sword in various historical eras? How were swords made and how were they used? Did the status of the sword in Central Europe differ from that of swords in Asia? These and many other questions will be discussed at the second interdisciplinary conference, which will follow up on the conference of the same name held in 2022. The third day of the conference, October 3, 2026, will also feature an accompanying program for the general public at the Visitor and Education Center.
